ZKsync Lite, the payment-focused ZK-rollup, will cease operations on May 4, 2026. Block production will halt, and the network's final state will be permanently frozen to prevent balance changes. The project, which showcased the potential of zero-knowledge technology, is now shifting focus to newer chains and the broader zkSync ecosystem.

Users retain the ability to claim their funds, while other ZKsync systems will continue uninterrupted. The retirement marks a strategic pivot for the team as they double down on next-generation infrastructure.
